Atlas Screening

For real estate

Screening for the people who hold the keys.

Agents, property managers, and leasing staff move through homes and handle other people's money and trust. Atlas gives brokerages and management firms identity, criminal, and eviction-history checks with applicant-guided intake, so you can review candidates and applicants with the care those roles demand.

What matters here

The checks that fit how real estate hires and leases.

Real estate teams screen two very different groups: the agents and staff they employ, and the residents they lease to. These are the parts of Atlas that matter most for both.

Identity and SSN trace

Confirm an applicant is who they claim to be and surface the addresses and names tied to their record, so downstream searches run against the right history.

Criminal history search

National database results give fast early signal, which Atlas then works to verify at the county source before it appears on the finished report.

Eviction and tenant history

For resident screening, review eviction records and rental history alongside criminal and credit data so leasing teams see the full picture, where permissible purpose applies.

Credit review where permitted

Assess financial responsibility for leasing and fiduciary agent roles, always subject to a permissible purpose and applicable state credit-check restrictions.

Applicant-guided intake

Candidates and applicants enter and consent to their own information through a guided flow, which cuts staff data entry and keeps disclosure and authorization on file.

Compliance handled

Standalone disclosure, written authorization, and the adverse-action workflow are built in, so both employment and tenant screening stay aligned with the FCRA and state law.

In the product

Every applicant, one clear pipeline.

Atlas keeps agents, staff, and residents in a single view, from the first invite through consent, results, and any adverse-action steps. Your team sees what is pending and what is ready while applicants move through a self-guided flow.

  • Send individual or bulk invites and watch status update as applicants finish intake
  • Separate fast database results from the verified report so you know what still needs confirmation
  • Built-in consent and adverse-action steps help keep leasing and hiring screening aligned with the FCRA

FCRA compliance

How this check stays compliant.

Built to be defensible: upfront consent, adverse-action support, and open dispute rights.

  • Atlas is the reporting agency; you decide

Atlas is a Consumer Reporting Agency that furnishes reports under the FCRA. Your organization makes the hiring decision.

  • Consent before every check

Every check needs a lawful permissible purpose, a standalone disclosure, and the applicant's written authorization.

  • A supported, two-step adverse action

Pre-adverse notice with the report and a summary of rights, a waiting period, then a final notice. Atlas supports each step.

  • Disputes are reinvestigated

Applicants may dispute a report; Atlas reinvestigates and corrections reach your dashboard. Email compliance@atlasscreening.com.

  • Sourced with reasonable procedures

Contents come from third-party and public records. Atlas uses reasonable procedures for accuracy but cannot guarantee every record is current.

Questions from real estate.

How screening works for your team, what returns quickly, and where compliance is handled for you.

Can we screen both employees and rental applicants?
Yes. Atlas supports screening for agents and leasing staff you employ as well as residents you lease to. Each group has its own permissible purpose and required consent, and Atlas collects standalone disclosure and written authorization as part of the applicant flow.
Is a credit check allowed for leasing decisions?
Credit-based screening requires a permissible purpose and the applicant's authorization, and several states restrict how credit information can be used. Atlas furnishes the report where those conditions are met; your team decides how it factors into a leasing or hiring decision within applicable law.
How fast do results come back?
Identity and national database results typically return quickly. County criminal and eviction verifications can take longer depending on the jurisdiction. Atlas separates fast database results from the complete verified report so you always know what is confirmed.
Who makes the leasing or hiring decision?
You do. Atlas is a Consumer Reporting Agency that furnishes the report; it does not make or recommend leasing or hiring decisions. When a report may lead to an adverse decision, the pre-adverse and adverse-action process applies.
