Atlas Screening

Add-on · $39.99

Tenant screening that respects the applicant.

Criminal, credit, and eviction history bundled for property managers. State-aware rules, including source-of-income and fair-chance housing, applied automatically.

What's included

Everything a landlord actually needs.

Built specifically for residential leasing, not a rebranded employment check.

Eviction history

Nationwide eviction court records across the 10,000+ U.S. jurisdictions that report them.

Credit check

TransUnion-powered credit report with ResidentScore, tuned for rental-payment prediction.

Criminal records

National, county, state, and sex offender registry, bundled in, not a separate order.

Income verification

Paystub-free income checks via Plaid integration or direct-employer verification.

Fair-housing rules

Source-of-income, ban-the-box, and state fair-chance housing rules applied automatically.

Applicant-paid option

Shift the cost to applicants with a white-labeled flow if that fits your leasing model.

The check process

From request to report

    Invite

Applicant gets a tokenized link, mobile-first and co-applicant aware.

ID, SSN, prior addresses, and income source submitted securely.

  3. 03

    Bundled search

Criminal, credit, eviction, and income verification run in parallel.

  4. 04

    Landlord report

Single clean report with pass/flag indicators, plus a pre-filled adverse-action flow if needed.

Tenant screening questions.

Fair-housing compliance, multi-applicant leases, and what happens when you need to deny.

Does this comply with fair-housing laws?
Yes. Atlas applies state-specific rules automatically: source-of-income protections, ban-the-box on criminal history, and fair-chance housing ordinances where they apply. Adverse actions include the required disclosures.
Can I screen multiple applicants on one lease?
Yes. Co-applicants and guarantors are captured during intake and screened in parallel. You get one combined report with individual sub-reports.
Is the applicant charged or the landlord?
Your choice. Default is landlord-paid; an applicant-paid flow is available if your leasing model prefers it.
What's ResidentScore?
A TransUnion credit score tuned specifically for rental-payment prediction, more relevant than a generic FICO for tenant screening decisions.

FCRA compliance

How this check stays compliant.

Built to be defensible: upfront consent, adverse-action support, and open dispute rights.

  • Atlas is the reporting agency; you decide

Atlas is a Consumer Reporting Agency that furnishes reports under the FCRA. Your organization makes the hiring decision.

  • Consent before every check

Every check needs a lawful permissible purpose, a standalone disclosure, and the applicant's written authorization.

  • A supported, two-step adverse action

Pre-adverse notice with the report and a summary of rights, a waiting period, then a final notice. Atlas supports each step.

  • Disputes are reinvestigated

Applicants may dispute a report; Atlas reinvestigates and corrections reach your dashboard. Email compliance@atlasscreening.com.

  • Sourced with reasonable procedures

Contents come from third-party and public records. Atlas uses reasonable procedures for accuracy but cannot guarantee every record is current.
